The rulers of Amer built strong fortifications around their kingdom, with a series of walls and watchtowers. This fort can be seen all around Amer Fort. Here’s a shot clicked from one such wall.
This wall is called the Great Wall of Amer because it surrounds the fortress of Amer. Today only 10-15% of this wall is in good condition.

In recent years, these watchtowers have become very popular among locals and travelers for the view it offers of the Amer Fort and the surrounding region. Unfortunately, many people climb on top of these structures to click on photos and videos to post them on social media like Instagram. There are many known cases of people falling and injuring themselves. The authorities must act against this.
